SAE J1772 also called Type 1, 5 Pin by people Japanese call it Yazaki, is a North American standard for electric vehicles(EV) charging equipment that made by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and compatible with North American Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vehicles. It be adopted by some post-2000 EV, such as Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf. J1772 standard defines two charging levels Level 1 is 120V/16A/1.92 kW, Level 2 is 240V/32A/7.68 kW(80A 19.21KW). It also be add to IEC 62196-2 standard. J1772 connecotor include the charging plug and EV side socket.
